Tips on How to have a great night sleep!

In order to have a great night sleep you need to follow some of these helpful tips before bedtimes. Winding down and relaxing are very important steps in preparing yourself for bed. Also your bedroom must be very comfortable and designed for relation and sleep. Here are some few tips to help you wind down, relax and sleep soundly at night:
  • a warm bath (not hot) will help your body reach a temperature that's perfect for rest
  • writing "to do" lists for the next day can organise your thoughts and clear your mind of any distractions
  • relaxation exercises, such as light yoga stretches, help to relax the muscles. Do not exercise vigorously, as it will have the opposite effect
  • relaxation CDs work by using a carefully narrated script, gentle hypnotic music, sound effects and soft white noises to relax you
  • reading a book relaxes your mind by distracting it
  • avoid using electric devices, such as; smartphones, tablets and laptops for an hour or so before you go to bed as the light from the screen on these devices may have a negative effect on sleep
  • mattress must be less than 10 years old
  • room should be cool and is set to a perfect temperature, not too hot, not too cold. Ideally between 18C - 24C
  • sleep in a dark room - if you can't, use Philps Hue Smart Lights to dim and switch off automatically
  • bedroom should be dark, quiet and tidy, with thick curtains to block the outside light, and enough comfy pillows to support your head and neck
